There is a host of males who historically adopt the famous character of females; for example, impersonators of Judy Garland, Joan Rivers, actresses, and public figures. In recent times these impersonators have taken over the identity of the people and some are in effect.in everyday life female impersonators have gained custody of some mothers children and display the children to cement their role and cast off suspicion.

Very daring impostors may pretend to be someone else who really exists, although the rapidity of modern news coverage has made this difficult in the case of notable individuals. Usually, however, impostors simply take on a new and completely fabricated identity, misrepresenting their financial status, educational status, social status, family background and, in some cases, gender. Impostors are usually aware of not being who they say they are. However, there are borderline cases who may end up believing their own tall tales, and some (often children or those suffering from a mental illness such as dementia or schizophrenia, as in the case of Anna Anderson) whose imposture may be the creation of a third party. People may make false claims about their past or background without being full-blown impostors; common false claims include having seen military action and involvement in well-known disasters such as the sinking of the ''[[RMS Titanic]]'' or the [[September 11, 2001, attacks]]. It is sometimes said that if every person who claimed to have "just missed" the ''Titanic''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s departure had been on board, the ship would have sunk like a lead weight in Southampton Harbour.

Lately, Indian rock scene is witnessing a huge progress, with tons of up coming bands from different genre showcasing their talents. With most bands heavily influenced by bands such as As I Lay Dying, Lamb of God and Bullet For My Valentine. Unfortunately, most up coming Indian Metal bands creates copy paste sound of such bands, instead of creating new sounds and riffs. Amidst all these copy paste bands, there are some bands who have successfully achieved their own sound. Killing a dream, Rabbit is Rich, Bhairav, Corroded Dreams, Circus, Under Chaos, Artillerie and Under Siege.

On May 17, 1673, Jolliet and Marquette departed from [[St. Ignace]] with two canoes and five other [[Coureur des bois#Voyageurs|voyageurs]] of French-Indian ancestry (today's [[Métis]]). They followed [[Lake Michigan]] to the [[Bay of Green Bay]], then up [[Fox River (Wisconsin)|Fox River]], nearly to its headwaters. From there, they portaged their canoes a distance of slightly less than two miles through marsh and oak plains to the [[Wisconsin River]]. At that point Europeans eventually built a trading post, [[Portage, WI|Portage]], named for its location. From there, they ventured on and entered the [[Mississippi River]] near present-day [[Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin|Prairie du Chien]] on June 17.

The characterisation as "Akamates" -adding all kind of adjectives in the names of the churches or the saints is common place in Greek-orthodox tradition- has been given a lot of explanations. The first one states that it probably derives from the name of the son of Theseus and Feadra, Akamantas, later transformed to Akamatos and later still to Akamates. Another scenario is based on the very sense of ''akamates'' (= flaneur), because during the Ottoman Era, it was used only once every year, the day of the feast of St George. A third option is that the name is due to Archbishop of Athens Michael Akominatos who might have been the first to perform a Holy Mass in the church.

Nevertheless, the last Holy Mass that took place in the temple was on February 2nd, 1833, during the celebrations for the arrival of Otto in Greece. In the presence of the Athenians and of many others the bishop Talantiu Neofitos gave a speech.

In 1994, Dr. Eugene J. Kanin of [[Purdue University]] investigated the incidences of false rape allegations made to the police in one small [[Urban area|urban]] community between 1978 and 1987. He states that unlike those in many larger jurisdictions, this police department had the resources to "seriously record and pursue to closure all rape complaints, regardless of their merits." He further states each investigation "always involves a serious offer to polygraph the complainants and the suspects." and "the complainant must admit that no rape had occurred. She is the sole agent who can say that the rape charge is false." The falseness of the allegations was not decided by the police, Dr. Kanin, nor upon physical or testimonial evidence. The number of false rape allegations in the studied period was 45; this was 41% of the 109 total complaints filed in this period.<ref>Kanin, Eugene J., "[http://web.archive.org/web/20061229091333/http://www.sexcriminals.com/library/doc-1002-1.doc False Rape Allegations]", ''Archives of Sexual Behavior'', Vol. 23, No. 1, Feb 1994, p. 81. (MS Word document at the Internet Archive)</ref>

Criticism of Dr. Kanin's report include Dr. David Lisak, an associate professor of psychology and director of the Men's Sexual Trauma Research Project at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. In the September/October 2007 issue of the Sexual Assault Report he states "Kanin's 1994 article on false allegations is a provocative opinion piece, but it is not a scientific study of the issue of false reporting of rape. It certainly should never be used to assert a scientific foundation for the frequency of false allegations." He further states "[ Dr. Kanin] simply reiterates the opinions of the police officers who concluded that the cases in question were 'false allegations.'" Lasik cites page 13 of Investigating Sexual Assaults from the International Association of Chiefs of Police which says polygraph tests for sexual assault victims are contraindicated in the investigation process and that their use is "based on the misperception that a significant percentage of sexual assault reports are false,". Lasik goes on that "It is noteworthy that the police department from which Kanin derived his data used or threatened to use the polygraph in every case… The fact that it was the standard procedure of this department provides a window on the biases of the officers who conducted the rape investigations, biases that were then echoed in Kanin's unchallenged reporting of their findings."

Rumney notes that early researchers tended to accept uncritically Freudian theories which purported to explain the prevalence of false allegations, while in more recent literature there has been "a lack of critical analysis of those who claim a low false reporting rate and the uncritical adoption of unreliable research findings" (p. 157). Rumney concludes that "as a consequence of such deficiencies within legal scholarship, factual claims have been repeatedly made that have only limited empirical support. This suggests widespread analytical failure on the part of legal scholarship and requires an acknowledgment of the weakness of assumptions that have been constructed on unreliable research evidence."

Americanisation of non-US article: agree

::::::::::Three months work, and my sole goal was to add another star? Umm, I guess. You are disregarding that I've followed the rules exactly on this. And as I said, I did not "Americanise" the article, at the time I started work, it had both formats in it. and I used the MOS to determine which should go. In any event, if we switched to international format, we'd presumably have to switch to British or another form of English, change all the ize to ise, and change Khrushchev's apartment (mentioned in the retirement section) to a flat. It will not improve the article to do any of this, and we are not called upon to do this. And, I should add, there is no consensus.--[[User:Wehwalt|Wehwalt]] ([[User talk:Wehwalt|talk]]) 10:52, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Someone just took off the POV tag for the section, but it is POV. It is a list of selected quotes from reviews, all overwhelmingly positive for the car. This works fine for movie ads, but not Wikipedia. I couldn't find a WP policy which explicitly discouraged "testimonial" type sections, and I'm not suggesting there must be an equal balance between positive and negative reviews. But it should at least be rewritten into one or more paragraphs rather than a list which encourages similar items to be tacked on. Honestly I'd prefer it be removed altogether, and if it wins awards, those can be mentioned. --[[User:Vossanova|Vossanova]] [[User talk:Vossanova|o<]] 17:22, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

The Genesis is a big deal for Hyundai and the automotive industry as it's a true luxury/sports car coming from a "budget" company that has gotten reviews deeming it as good, if not better, than luxury offerings. It's extremely relevant and important information, and while there are probably too many positive excerpts here, there should definitely be some quotes. It could be rewritten into more of a summary paragraph with a few quotes, both good and bad. However I don't believe eliminating Media Reviews for Awards is necessary, as it's relevant to show what a success story/accomplishment the Genesis has been, and most people coming to this page are probably coming here to see what the hype is about an if experts have said it lives up to the hype. It's important information. -jb

The most detailed are Augustan and later, and divide the year according to a broad official grouping of sacred categories.<ref>Beard ''et al''., Vol. 1, 6: roughly 40 festivals annually; ''ibid'', Vol. 2, 3.1 - 3 for a selection. These collected Fasti can be found with bibliography and sources in Degrassi, ''Inscriptiones Italiae, Vol. XIII - Fasti et elogia, fasc. II - Fasti anni Numani et Iuliani,'' Rome, 1963. See also Scullard, 1981.</ref> Work days (''nefasti'') on the calendars are outnumbered by festival days (''fasti''), when official business was suspended. Some festivals last for a single day or less, others for several. Those titled in capital letters, are generally assumed the more important and ancient. Others, titled in small letters, may have been less important or more recent.<ref>Beard ''et al''., 6 - 7; the capitalised festivals are probably the older and most important but it is not known how old, or to whom they were important. They are probably ancient but their attribution to Numa or Romulus is doubtful.</ref> No single example can be regarded as authoritative; different localities may have followed their own ritual and interpretive traditions. "The richest source of all is Ovid's Fasti, a witty verse account of the first six months of the Roman calendar and its rituals," written during the reign of the emperor Augustus.<ref>Beard et al., 6, with further discussion at 174 - 6 & 207 - 8.</ref> There can be little doubt that some festivals, such as [[Saturnalia]] and [[Consualia]], would have traditionally included broad humour and burlesque, but Ovid's ''Fasti'' is an artistic work, imaginative, high-minded, entertaining and scurrilous by turns.<ref>Beard et al., Vol. 1, 7, & Vol. 2, 6.4a for the rape of Vesta by Priapus as mythological farce in Ovid's Fasti, VI. 319 - 48.</ref> The less a particular festival was understood, the greater the opportunities for its cumulative reinterpretation and reinvention. An understanding of its "'original' significance [is therefore] not just difficult, but close to impossible".<ref>Beard et al., Vol. 1, 7.</ref>

Work days (''nefasti'') on the calendars are outnumbered by festival days (''fasti''), when official business was suspended. Some festivals last for a single day or less, others for several. The calendars mark the passage of time as sacred, communal and official. They also represent the celebrations, traditions and values of specific classes and occupations, each with its own traditions and values. For example, [[Saturnalia]] ends the year and universaly allows a temporary reversal of ''status quo'' between master and slave: [[Parilia]] begins the pastoral year and involves both "private" cult and the state [[Vestal Virgins|Vestals]]. [[Compitalia]] is agricultural, local, plebeian and servile but its cult to the Lares has a state counterpart. Two [[Equiria]] festivals are dedicated to Mars. One purifies the Roman army in his name. In the other, the ''[[Equirria|Equus october]]'', winning horse of his October festival's chariot race, is sacrificed then fought over between the [[iuvenes]] of the [[Regia]] and [[Subura]].<ref>Beard et al., Vol. 1, 47 - 49.</ref> There is no reason to assume that all Romans were involved with all festivals; some may have required only the presence and rites of their priests and acolytes.<ref>Rüpke, in Rüpke (ed), 4.</ref>
